รูดอล์ฟ เป็นกวางเรนเดียร์อายุน้อยที่สุด อ่อนแอที่สุด หน้าตาก็สุดแสนจะธรรมดา แถมยังไม่มีพลังพิเศษอย่างใครเขาอีก มีเพียงแต่จมูกสีแดงๆที่ต่างไปจากคนอื่น เจ้ารูดอล์ฟเลยมักกลายเป็นเป้าหมายให้ถูกล้อเลียนจากกวางตัวอื่นๆอยู่เสมอ

“คงไม่มีใครต้องการฉัน ในวันคริสมาสต์ ทำไมฉันไม่เหมือนกวางตัวอื่นๆนะ”
รูดอล์ฟก้มหน้าลงพร้อมจมูกสีแดงของเขาบนสีหน้าอันเศร้าสร้อยในค่ำคืนที่อากาศหนาวเหน็บ พร้อมกับพายุหิมะที่แรงขึ้นจนปกคลุมทั่วท้องฟ้า
“ฉันต้องการเธอ” เสียงหนึ่งดังขึ้น
“ฉันอยากให้เธอมาช่วยฉันลากเลื่อนในคืนนี้ ฉันอยากให้เธอมานำหน้าสุดของขบวนกวางเรนเดียร์ทั้งหมด จมูกสีแดงที่กำลังส่องแสงของเธอจะนำทางเราฝ่ายพายุหิมะไปแจกของขวัญเด็กๆกัน” คุณลุงซานต้าผู้ใจดีบอกกับกวางน้อยจมูกแดง
“อย่าให้ใครมาลดคุณค่าในตัวเธอ !”
ทันใดนั้น กวางเรนเดียร์ทั้ง 8 ตัวและเจ้ารูดอล์ฟ จึงเริ่มสังเกตเห็นแสงสว่างบนจมูกสีแดงของน้องเล็กอย่างรูดอล์ฟ แสงบนจมูกนั้นส่องสว่างเสียจนสามารถพาคณะของซานต้าผ่านเส้นทางที่วิสัยทัศน์แทบเป็นศูนย์ไปได้อย่างงายดาย
เมื่อทุกคนเห็นภาพที่ปรากฏขึ้นตรงหน้า กวางรุ่นพี่ทุกตัวจึงเริ่มเห็นคุณค่าในตัวเจ้ารูดอล์ฟ กวางแต่ละตัวจึงทะยอยเดินเข้ามาคุยกับเจ้ากวางน้อยดีๆ ขอโทษ ให้กำลังใจ และเริ่มยอมรับในคุณค่าของกวางตัวน้อยจมูกแดงตัวนี้
และตัวรูดอล์ฟเอง ก็กล้าและเชื่อมั่นพอที่จะขึ้นนำขบวน กลายเป็น”กวางลากเลื่อนตัวที่ 9” พาคุณลุงซานต้าฝ่าพายุหิมะไปแจกของขวัญให้เด็กๆทั่วโลกได้สำเร็จในที่สุด
ในชีวิตจริง...เราเองทุกคนคงเคยรู้สึกเหมือนเจ้ากวางน้อยรูดอล์ฟจมูกแดงไม่มากก็น้อย
เราทุกคนเคยรู้สึกแตกต่าง
เราเคยรู้สึกแปลกแยก
เราถูกคนอื่นมองว่าไม่สมบูรณ์
เราถูกมองว่าไร้ประโยชน์
และหลายๆครั้งเราถูกปฏิเสธ และถูก bully
อาจมีคนเคยบอกว่าเราแปลกแยก เพียงเพราะคิดไม่เหมือนเขา เราไม่ชอบทำในสิ่งที่คนอื่นเค้าชอบกัน แต่เราชอบในสิ่งที่คนอื่นไม่เข้าใจ
อาจมีคนเคยบอกว่าเราไม่สมบูรณ์ เพียงเพราะหน้าตาเราแย่กว่าเขา ทั้งๆที่เราเองก็อยากจะสมบูรณ์แบบเหมือนคนอื่น ไม่มีใครอยากเกิดมาพร้อมข้อบกพร่อง
อาจมีคนเคยบอกว่าเราไร้ประโยชน์ ทั้งๆที่ยังไม่ได้เปิดโอกาสให้เราได้ทำประโยชน์เลยสักครั้งเดียว
....แต่เราเคยถามตัวเองบ้างไหม ว่าการถูกปฏิเสธนั้น ลดคุณค่าในตัวตนของเราจริงหรือ?
เราทุกคนสามารถเรียนรู้จากเจ้ารูดอล์ฟ เรียนรู้ที่จะแตกต่าง
